Moorooroo Park Vineyards
Moorooroo Park Vineyards is situated by the banks of Jacobs Creek in an historic pocket of the Barossa Valley – Tanunda.
First established by the Nitschke family around 1847, Moorooroo Park Vineyards is now owned by Wyndham and Patricia House who have a background in catering - not surprisingly the vineyards are part of a bigger venture known as the Jacobs Creek Retreat – which includes accommodation and a restaurant all set in lavish French inspired gardens.
Moorooroo Park Vineyards has 1 ha of shiraz vines planted within the valley floor – using the grapes produced there and others purchased outside, traditional artisan wines are created – a small range of premium wines ranging from their flagship range of sparkling shiraz, cabernets blend and straight shiraz to their sweet moscato and aged sweet semillon ‘Dolce Far Niente’.
Moorooroo Park Vineyards are set amongst the historic stone settlement buildings from the Nitschke family era and wines are tasted in the 160 year old Silentium Cellar – once that family’s winery and wheat shed.
