Loose End

In 2003, veteran winemaker Rob Gibson created the contemporary Loose End brand to compliment the exceptional work that he already does with Gibson Wines and the Australian Old Vine Collection. With more than 35 years experience in the wine industry, Rob is larger than life. With his enormous moustache and personable manner, he is a tribute to the great characters of the Barossa Valley. He also makes bloody good wine!

When you visit Rob at Gibson Wines cellar door, you walk past some perfectly manicured Petit Verdot bush vines and you cannot help but poke your head inside the cellar to see open ferments and smell the aromas from the new wines of the season. The cellar door houses an enormous pizza oven and in the background there are picturesque RT2T high trellised vines - testament to Rob’s extensive viticultural experience.

In contrast to both Gibson Wines and the Australian Old Vine Collection, the Loose End wines are all about contemporary style and easy drinking. They are all great value wines that allow us all to sample what Rob can do without burning a hole in your back pocket. - Sandy Godfrey
