Greystone Wines
Greystone Wines
Recently described by Decanter magazine as one of the top 20 producers in New Zealand, Greystone’s vineyard is situated in the Waipara Valley, an hour north of Christchurch on the South Island of New Zealand. The wines are 100% estate grown and the Greystone team have a strong affinity & connection with the land that produces their wines, and the people who drink them.
Their passion extends to fishing the rivers, skiing the mountains and hunting the hills of this beautiful region, and sitting down afterwards with a few friends, a good meal and a glass or two of wine.
Nick Gill (Viticulturist) is a recent import from South Australia’s Barossa Valley. He has crossed the ditch (struggling against the current going the other way) to fish trout and stalk deer and in his spare time develop and manage 37 hectares of prime vineyards! This man of the land managed the majority of Penfolds Grange vineyards in Australia including Magill Estate, Block 42, Koonunga Hill and Kalimna.
Dominic Maxwell (Winemaker) is a cool climate specialist who has worked at renowned wineries Chehalem Wines in Oregon and Weingut Leitz in the Rheingau, Germany.
