Allan Scott Sparkling Sauvignon Blanc 2009
I was fortunate enough to taste this on release with none other than Josh Scott, son of Allan Scott, recently, and all present commented on how well the wine showed.
Packaged in a brand new, reseal able closure, this lively vintage sparkling will have bubble heads zinging in 2010!
Made entirely from Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, the wine exhibits lashings of freshly squeezed limes, interrupted momentarily by a mix of freshly cut grass and breakfast passion fruit.
The wine is clean and fragrant, fresh on the palate, and alive with the varietal acid that you would expect. The bead is fine, and persistent, and adds an extra element of texture to Marlborough Sauv Blanc.
A lighter style sparkling wine, that balances fruit sweetness and acid freshness. -DD

Allan Scott Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2009
I was drawn into an interesting discussion with my tasting companion over this wine. Whilst there is little doubt that Marlborough produces an indentifiable style of Sauvignon Blanc, the wines made from the region are far from homogenous. Allan Scott have produced a Marlborough Savy that is more restrained and one which exhibits a few twists on the standard aromatics one associates with the area. -JP
