Linfield Road The Monarch Single Vineyard Merlot 2006

Linfield Road The Monarch Single Vineyard Merlot 2006
Bottle: $22.00 | Dozen: $237.60 | Size750ml | Alcohol Content15.2% | Region Barossa Valley, SA
There are still many drinkers out there who enjoy a whack of good fruit flavour accompanied by a fair clip of oak and the wines from Linfield Road should suit them down to a tee. Decadence and hedonism abound in a stable of wines that won't die wondering! The single vineyard Merlot is softer than Linfield's other reds leaving the sweet fruit flavours to take centre stage. - JP

Linfield Road The Black Hammer Cabernet Sauvignon 2006

Linfield Road The Black Hammer Cabernet Sauvignon 2006
Bottle: $22.00   $19.99 | Dozen: $215.89 | Size750ml | Alcohol Content15.3% | Region Barossa Valley, SA
Starting with a deep dark red colour and a lush spicy blackcurrent nose, this wine certainly looks and smells like the real deal. Upon tasting the integration of oak into the wine is seamless, well structured and balanced against the rich plum and slightly herbaceous characteristics with lovely silky tannins running across the back palate. This is an exceptional example of Barossan Cabernet. Get it into you. - AJ

Linfield Road The Black Hammer Cabernet Sauvignon 2005

Linfield Road The Black Hammer Cabernet Sauvignon 2005
Bottle: $24.99 | Dozen: $299.88 | Size750ml | Alcohol Content14.8% | Region Barossa Valley, SA
An appropriate name for this wine, Linfield Road's Black Hammer isn't an exercise in finesse. It's about rich, intense fruit and lashings of chocolate oak. Coming from the Barossa it's playing to its strengths and if you're after a bit of bang for your buck then look no further. Just get some steak cooking and give it a good decant. -JP

Linfield Road Edmund Major Reserve Shiraz 2005

Bottle: $65.00   $59.99 | Dozen: $719.88 | Size750ml | Alcohol Content14.5% | Region Barossa Valley, SA
Sourced from 100 year old vines and given two years of top notch French oak, this is a wine that gives us an idea of the real potential of Linfield Road to produce super premium wine. Plums and blackberries dominate the nose which is still quite primary. It is balanced and intense with a many years of improvement left in it. Complex notes of cedar, paprika and cloves add extra character, along with a suggestion fo char grilled meats. The wine got better and better over two days of tasting, with the layers of flavour integrating beautifully. The drive through the finish is tremendous. If you open a bottle now, give it a good decant, but it's well worth keeping a few in the cellar. It's really going to blossom with time. -JP

Linfield Road The Slab Hut Merlot Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon 2005

Linfield Road The Slab Hut Merlot Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon 2005
Bottle: $30.00 | Dozen: $324.00 | Size750ml | Region Barossa Valley, SA
This winery's red blend actually shows a little more finesse than is apparent in its other offerings. Having said that, there is still plenty of flavour to go round. To quote the Hunters and Collectors 1984 classic "The Slab", with which this wine shares its name, "It's somewhere down there between daytime and the dark". - JP
