In the spirit of Australian winemaking innovation, this single vineyard Shiraz is fermented on Viognier skins by ex-Torbreck vintner Dan Standish. Old school open fermenters and basket presses create a wine of outstanding depth and quality. Sweet black fruits and coffee, lifted nose, stone fruit with raspberry highlights. Soft and supple on entry but more structured and meaty on a grippy mid palate. Coffeed oak and dark chocolate all come together in a cohesive manner with commendable length and balance making this the complete package. -JP

A sexy, sexy wine. It opens with flowers at the door, and sends you straight to the bedroom! What an elegant package! Floral notes with hints of musk on the nose, and dripping with silky seductiveness on the palate too where it’s off dry character offers sweetness, not smuttiness. Nuances of pear and ginger perfume fill the room as you become more acquainted with this well rounded wine. Quite exotic, with a long, long finish! -DD

A distinctively Barossan deep purple with vivid hints of lavender as it splashes into your glass. Concentrated tomato soup, hints of mint, wood and earth instantly impale the nostrils and smooth jammy fruits alongside crushed mulberry as the wine passes over your palate. A blend of Tempranillo, Grenache and Mataro. Positively bursting with juicy red & black berries and oh so fresh. There's a touch of pure "grapey-ness" about the flavour too. Lots of spice on the back palate; mostly nutmeg & pepper. Those are the keys, but tomato flavoured, soft acidity and a tiny suggestion of earth both help it along. A lick of tannin on the finish too. So easy to drink & food friendly, there is a danger that you'll fail to notice what a very good wine it is. And perhaps that's a part of its charm too. 220 cases made. Get it while it's fresh. - JP
