Cornelius Sauvignon 2007

Bottle: $34.00 | Dozen: $367.20 | Size750ml | RegionBellarine Peninsula, VIC
From the Scotchman’s Hill stable in Victoria, this wine shows guava and paw paw fruits on the nose, rounded out with barrel ferment characters of spice, creamy lees and cedar oak. Expect tropical fruit and gooseberries flavours, with a slight mineral edge. Firm acid and a long and lingering after taste provide balance.

The Grapes of Ross Moscato 2007

The Grapes of Ross Moscato 2007 Cairns Show 2008
Bottle: $16.00 | Dozen: $172.80 | Size750ml | Region Barossa Valley, SA
With a passion for fruit-driven styles, winemaker Ross Virgara selects Frontignac grapes from a fourth generation family property in the Barossa’s Lyndoch Valley for this aromatic, lower-alcohol style wine (8.5%). A floral nose leads to a luscious and delicately sweet palate with hints of pineapple and passionfruit. Expect a clean zesty finish. - JL

Winter Creek Sauvignon Blanc 2007

Winter Creek Sauvignon Blanc 2007
Bottle: $20.00 | Dozen: $216.00 | Size750ml | Region Adelaide Hills, SA
David and Pam Cross show clearly that they know how to create great diversity and great intensity in Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc. The wine is varietal and complex, while displaying vibrant herbaceous characters that make it a very approachable food wine. Assorted candied notes are exhibited, along with strength in minerality, acidity and length. It is packed with austere tropical fruits lead by rockmelon and guava and is a great match for fresh goats curd on Turkish toast with dried figs. - SG

Allan Scott Marlborough Riesling 2007

Allan Scott Marlborough Riesling 2007
Bottle: $23.00   $20.99 | Dozen: $226.69 | Size750ml | Alcohol Content12.5% | RegionMarlborough, NZ
Crafted from the oldest Riesling vines in New Zealand, this shows some of the intensity we see from very young tropical Rieslings and a touch of the toasted honey that usually comes with a little bottle age. It is perfectly suited to toasted brioche with truffled honey, caramelised lime rind and hard sheep's milk cheese. - SG

B3 Eden Valley Riesling 2007

Eden Valley Riesling can be so diverse, and this wine shows what brilliant concentration of citrus aromatics is possible. It also exhibits some classy Eden Valley toasted orange rind and has a crisp and appealing acidity that will see it drink perfectly now with fresh grilled prawns or cellar well for the patient collector. - SG

David Franz Eden Valley Riesling 2007

David Franz Eden Valley Riesling 2007
Bottle: $26.00 | Dozen: $280.80 | Size750ml | Alcohol Content11.1% | Region Barossa Valley, SA
I’m told David Franz is very serious about his work. We have never met, but it is very easy to see that this is far from an ordinary Eden Valley Riesling, and serious or not, he certainly knows how to make wine. Eden Valley Riesling sometimes offers little more than some kerosene, lime and minerality. This wine is far more than that, it has texture and such long minerality that I will look forward to seeing it in another 10 years. Cheers. - SG

Glen Eldon Eden Valley Riesling 2007

Bottle: $19.00 | Dozen: $205.20 | Size750ml | Region Eden Valley, SA
The nose offers fresh fruit flavours of lemon and lime. The balance and structure of this wine will ensure crisp freshness in its youth, however those who cellar will be rewarded with an exceptional aged Riesling in six to eight years. - SG

McLean's Farmgate Eden Valley Riesling 2007

Bottle: $25.00   $19.99 | Dozen: $239.88 | Size750ml | Alcohol Content11.5% | Region Eden Valley, SA
This is just starting to sing. An expressive nose of lime, honeysuckle and musk. The acidity is wonderfully soft but still offers enough of a spine to see this develop more toasty notes in the years ahead. Some bathsalts, spice and thyme linger on a fantastically long finish. There's good palate weight and intensity already, meaning it will stand up to stronger flavours at the table. Absolutely no sign of petrol characters either and it's unlikely to develop any. Stunning stuff, hook in or save a bottle for another five or so years. -JP
