Cornelius Sauvignon 2007
From the Scotchman’s Hill stable in Victoria, this wine shows guava and paw paw fruits on the nose, rounded out with barrel ferment characters of spice, creamy lees and cedar oak. Expect tropical fruit and gooseberries flavours, with a slight mineral edge. Firm acid and a long and lingering after taste provide balance.

Dutschke Ivy Blondina Moscato 2008
So many Moscatos can taste overly sweet and cloying. Thankfully this isn't one of them. The key to that lies with the spritz and citrus characters that balance the tropical fruit flavour. It works a treat with spicy food. -JP
The Grapes of Ross Moscato 2007
With a passion for fruit-driven styles, winemaker Ross Virgara selects Frontignac grapes from a fourth generation family property in the Barossa’s Lyndoch Valley for this aromatic, lower-alcohol style wine (8.5%). A floral nose leads to a luscious and delicately sweet palate with hints of pineapple and passionfruit. Expect a clean zesty finish. - JL
Allan Scott Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2009
I was drawn into an interesting discussion with my tasting companion over this wine. Whilst there is little doubt that Marlborough produces an indentifiable style of Sauvignon Blanc, the wines made from the region are far from homogenous. Allan Scott have produced a Marlborough Savy that is more restrained and one which exhibits a few twists on the standard aromatics one associates with the area. -JP

Allan Scott Millstone Sauvignon Blanc 2008
Allan Scott’s youngest daughter, winemaker Sara, has thrown everything at this wine, it is complex beyond anyone’s estimates and maintains the freshness that we all love from Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. The fruit comes exclusively from the Scott’s Millstone vineyard which was converted to organic after the harvest of 2007. Usual sprays are replaced in this vineyard with alternatives including compost teas and other homeopathic preparations. The resulting wine is a real treat. - SG
Allan Scott Moorlands Sauvignon Blanc 2008
New Zealand is known for fresh and young styles of Sauvignon Blanc, but this wine takes the variety to an entirely new level, with tight integrated oak and texture that will happily see it mature for years to come. Flinty minerality, candied peel and peaches dominate the nose followed by asparagus and lemon across the palate. - SG
Arete The Road Less Travelled Sauvignon Blanc 2009
The Arete Sauvignon Blanc is the colour of pale corn that casts shadows of granny smith apple green. It delivers a citrus and honey bouquet with a distinct creaminess which morphs into intense lime, sweet pear and green characteristics. A touch of minerality adds depth and structure to the textural components. All in all a great wine for light favoured fare such as Chicken or Fish or to simply enjoy on its own.-EN

Clos Petit by Clos Henri Sauvignon Blanc 2008
The internationally recognised wine making family of Henri Bourgeois of Sancerre, France recognised the synergy between Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and the Marlborough, NZ. In 2000 they set up a winery there to concentrate on these wines, giving them a slightly European accent. A gentle, bready entry continues as the tropical fruits assert themselves on the mid-palate. The lees derived softness adds beautiful textural nuances to the typically zippy, minerally Marlborough expression of Sauvignon Blanc. With refreshingly crisp sour and tart edges and a suggestion of cheese, this a wine of some sophistication.-JP
