St Hallett Old Block Shiraz 2008
- Region Barossa Valley, SA
- Type Red
- Size 750ml
- Alcohol 13.9%
The Old Block is St Hallett's ultimate expression of Barossa Shiraz. Sourced from both Eden Valley and the Barossa proper, it's typically inky, concentrated and complex. The 2008 is a distinctly long-lived expression of Barossa Shiraz, a powerfully fragrant, lush expression of dense black fruit, concentrated floral aromas and long, soft tannins. Its spicy middle is suggestively beset by plush, velvety palate with feint prickles of cedary oak. Combining the density of old vine fruit with the lively acids of judiciously early picking, it will have a tremendous cellar life. -NT

says:...a honed structure, tightrope balance and consummate control...an opulent wine at a tantalising 13.9% alcohol.
