Smallfry Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon 2009
- Region Barossa Valley, SA
- Type Red
- Size 750ml
- Alcohol 14%
Smallfry typically aims to make complex, structured Cabernet from the elevated Eden Valley sub-region. However, in 2009, a vintage where the Eden Valley proved a little dry and Barossa floor Cabernet shone, this is a rare amalgam of fruit from both districts. The result is a multi-dimensional Cabernet Sauvignon, combining rich, expressive, herbal fruit with leaner, aromatic, characteristics from the cooler, more elevated vines. The end product is lush and red/black fruited, with balancing sweet and sour tones, fresh tobacco notes and a restrained finish of milk/dark chocolate tannins. -NT
