Purple Palate

A product of the compounding ‘natural wine’ movement, this wild-yeast fermented, unfiltered Seppeltsfield Shiraz delivers its almost obnoxious richness with invasive ease. A sweet, heavy core of liquorice, both red and black, is housed in a silky sack of spicy, vanillin cedar sap that evolves with musky, lolly-bag aromas. Though unapologetically and hedonistically sweet, the wine suggests an animal core of beef mince which its subtle pulse of lightly caramelised citrus rind and lively sherbet may just preserve for future enjoyment. - NT
