Purple Palate

Winemaker Fraser McKinley really gives you a mouthful of wine. And I'm not just talking about how it's named! It's a seriously intense Shiraz but what makes it work is way the fruit sings. There's nothing jammy or flat here, even though 2008 was a tough vintage in the Barossa. This wine will live a long time. With only 388 bottles filled you'd best get some in your cellar fast. -JP
