The Augusta represents the Russell commitment to releasing appropriately-aged, quality Barossa Shiraz. The Augusta's Farm vineyard, from whose vines this wine is sourced, produces typically rich fruit, with ripe flavours of red/black berries, earth, liquorice and spice. Delivering well-ripened and complex fruit, the oak has a charry flavour, contributing to a masculine air of cedar, worn leather and plumb. In its maturity, its showing characters of caramel, toffee and dusty mocha. -Ed.
