Nick Stock, The Penguin Wine Guide
says:This has the distinctive air of Eden Valley's lofty spice and fragrance with the requisite understated power to place it at the front of the pack. Dark blackberry and plum fruits, and dark spices, some pepper and fragrant, cedary oak too. The palate moves through red fruits and really showcases regional spice amid finely sheeted tannins and fresh, bright acid crunch. Lovely structural build, superb balance and outstanding quality for the money.
Campbell Mattinson & Gary Walsh, The Big Red Wine Book
says:Majorly beautiful. Lush and smooth, rich and mouthfilling, all of which is a blessed thing – but what really elevates it is the feeling of elegance it manages to maintain throughout. Style, substance, class and impact. You can ask for little more. This is near perfect winemaking and growing.
James Halliday
says:Bright colour; touch of reduction, with a savoury dark array of fruit; medium-bodied, dry and with a mineral quality to the palate; a firm and long finish.
Huon Hooke - Gourmet Traveller Wine Contributing Editor
says:This wine, made by Ben Radford's wife Gill, has a soft, typical Eden Valley mulberry/leafy aroma with mixed-berry and cassis overtones. It's smooth, sweet-fruited and gentle with medium body and real drinkability.
