Purple Palate

It is pleasing to taste decent French oak in a cool climate Chardonnay for under $15. French oak is exorbitantly expensive and cheap oak just tastes cheap! Chief winemaker Jim Chatto – Hunter Valley winemaker of the year, 2009 – has won high praise for Pepper Tree wines. The vibrant fruit driven style is supported by excellent structure and backbone. Some subtle complexity underlies the youthful palate which is not common in cheaper Chardonnay.
