The Surly Muse is a wine that makes its profound complexities readily available. It has tight structure and acidity thanks to Viognier's natural grit, and plenty of expression, thanks to the Barossa's warmth. Typically exotic, with unctuous layers of apricot, lime and autumn flowers, its has a good measure of viscosity and a firm, prickly texture. Framed by notes of orange and lime, it finishes with wet-stone minerality and lingering spice. -NT
