The Eleventh Hour has become one of Massena's most coveted releases. It's a traditionally bold Barossa shiraz, full of punchy red and black fruits, evenly measured liquorice and chocolate. This year strives further than the warm-vintage 2008, delivering an inkier, tighter and more concentrated expression of the fruit. The tannins are firmer and the perfume a little more exotic, with slowly blossoming layers of complexity. It is ready for cellaring, but has the silky presence to drink handsomely now. -NT
