Kalleske Old Vine Grenache 2007

  • Region Barossa Valley, SA
  • Type Red
  • Size 750ml
  • Alcohol 15.5%
I think this is the largest wine I have ever seen. There is so much of everything and for those of you who want massive Barossa bombshells with enough viscosity to stand your spoon up in, then this wine is perfect for you. It is clear that there has been some excellent fruit used to make this wine, but the difficult vintage has left the wine hot. - SG

 says:

Smells of coconut and mint at first but after breathing those characters settle nicely into the wine. It tastes fresh and raspberried, spicy and licoricey - though it’s a dry, almost tarry expression of licorice. Fine fingers of tannin and the odd funky edge, in a good way. It’s got a bit of spunk this. And medium term, it should age very well.
