Henschke Keyneton Euphonium 2007
- Region Multi
- Type Red
- Size 750ml
- Alcohol 14.5%
Being a high-school French horn player, I’ve always been intrigued by the name of this highly regarded wine. The answer lies in history: the German settlers of the Barossa hills village of Keyneton loved their music, with the Henschke Family Brass Band being one of the regular attractions. The B flat euphonium was one of the more popular instruments, producing lovely warm and subtle tones – a little like this excellent 2007 blend of Shiraz (50%), Cabernet Sauvignon (20%), Merlot (19%) and Cabernet Franc (11%). It’s all here – blackberries, cedar, roasted meats.... lush, velvety drinking. -JL

says:Good colour; a medium-bodied, supple and elegant wine, the aromas and flavours in a complex black fruit spectrum.
