Greystone Waipara Pinot Noir 2009
- Region Waipara Valley, NZ
- Type Red
- Size 750ml
- Alcohol 14.5%
Greystone keeps its burgeoning international reputation on the burn with this single-vineyard Pinot Noir from Waipara, in NZ’s South Island. A pretty, perfumed nose of violets and dark cherries leads to darker cherries, ripe plums and star anise flavours. A smoky haze adds to the silky back palate. Love the palate weight – not too light, not too heavy. - JL
Sam Kim, of Wine Orbit
says:Their 2008 Pinot Noir was excellent (92 points) and this is even better...beautifully lifted and complex aromas of dark plum, cherry, spice and game...complete harmony.
Bob Campbell MW
says:Strong dark cherry and ripe plum flavours with a savoury, spicy seasoning of oak. Elegant, vibrant Pinot Noir with energy, length and a silken texture.
