Grant Burge Meshach Shiraz 2006

  • Region Barossa Valley, SA
  • Type Red
  • Size 750ml
  • Alcohol 15%
The Meshach is one of the Barossa Valley's truly iconic wines. Hand-picked fruit from the near-100-year-old vines of Burge's famous Filsell vineyard, as well as select batches of even older Barossa grapes, combining to make one of the most complex Shirazs in the country. Typically dense and layered with spices, in its youth it has potent blackberry aromas and an inky palate with super-fine tannins. Released at five years of age, the 2006 is beginning to show the unique characteristics of its old-vine fruit, with a complex undercarriage of chinese-spices, fig, Arabica coffee and pure cocoa. Intensely flavoured and firmly structured, its a wine that will easily shuffle through decades in the cellar, amassing a myriad discernable details and value along the way. Ed.
