The latest addition to Grant Burge's Icon range is the Abednego, a Shiraz Grenache Mouvedre blend styled in the Rhone manner, and thus the spiritual Big Brother of Burge's long loved Holy Trinity blend. Sourced exclusively from Grant Burge's own vineyards, averaging at an incredible 110-years vine age, this has all the depth and intensity one could expect. Powerful, floral aromas lead a nose of fresh earth, red fruits and spices. A sour-edged palate of cherry, dark chocolate, spiced fruits and gritty soil is held together by the kind of structure that will compliment the most adventurous, meat-driven foods. Powerful and yet very particulalry styled, this wine suggests big rewards for those with patience.-Ed.
