Purple Palate

Felton Road is undoubtedly one of New Zealand's most iconic wineries. Pioneers and champions of the arid Central Otago region, over two decades they have produced some of the world's most coveted New World wines. The Estate Pinot Noir comes from coveted soils, which are tended organically, and which are honored by a 'hands-off', minimal-intervention approach to winemaking. Year on year, this plush, ardently regional Pinot is typically approachable in its youth and yet ever complex, themed by a myriad floral and animal notes, and of a sensual, decidedly velvet-like texture. 2010 is another very good vintage, described by the winemaker as a 'benchmark Felton.'-Ed.
