Domain Barossa Black Tongue Shiraz 2008

  • Region Barossa Valley, SA
  • Type Red
  • Size 750ml
  • Alcohol 14%
The Black Tongue, a lot like the Purple Palate, is an unfortunate stamp of the wine aficionado. Not to be confused with the Black Mark, or even the Black Sign, this characteristic is most often seen in the mouths of enthusiastic wine tasters as they wander out of a tasting. In this case, it is the result of consumption, consumption of this excellent rich dark Barossan Shiraz. With brooding savoury fruit aromatics and rich dark tannins the Black Tongue Shiraz offers us far more than its meagre price tag. - SG

James Halliday, the Wine Companion
 says:

Good hue; a complex Barossa Valley shiraz that seems to have had a brief liaison with McLaren Vale and come home with a distinct touch of chocolate to add to its black fruits, fine-grained tannins and plentiful oak.
