Purple Palate

From a quality Barossa vintage, the Ben's Promise delivers again for style, structure and depth of fruit. Full of rich aromas of bright red berries, sweet flowers and vanilla, underlined by a rich, mature notes of stewed plumb, raisins and toffee. The palate belies plenty of powerful Barossa flavour as well as a host of dusty, masculine notes of oak, spice, cocoa and Arabica coffee. Typical of Franz, at five years of age, this has been released at a time when the strong primary fruits are really starting to share the limelight with deeper, more subtle and textural elements of earth and spice. It makes for an exciting wine, ready for drinking as it approaches the height of its complexity. (This is a good one for quality Barossa freaks who perhaps couldn't have been trusted to cellar it themselves!) -Ed.
