An elegant but masculine wine, I smell strong ripe raspberry, cigar box and licorice aromas, with some black pepper and mint in the upper palate. A bit spicy to taste at first, then a series of refined savoury flavours including bitter cherry and spiced plum smooth the wine out. Ending with supple currant, caramel and cocoa flavours. An impressive wine that benefits from decanting and definitely marries with charred meats. Great value for money and a unique style that will appeal to many. - DJ
