Clonakilla Riesling 2009

  • Region Murrumbateman, ACT
  • Type White
  • Size 750ml
  • Alcohol 12.5%
Tim Kirk has built a bit of a cult following at Clonakilla, mostly as a result of his rather awesome Canberran Shiraz Viogniers. But Canberra is also a hot region for many other varieties at the moment, not the least of which is the noble riesling grape. There's a synergy at work here but expect some differences from the Eden and Clare Valley models. -JP

 says:

Terrific wine. Tart with lime juice and lemon sherbert. Chalky and fennel-like through the finish. Lots of length, and a touch of grip. Heaps of aroma. Seriously dry. Incredibly pure. The flavour flows like adjectives. Or superlatives. On and on. Reckon I might be a fan of this. (And while this will cellar, personally I would drink it young).
