Purple Palate

The fact that 80-year-old vines make up the house's second Greanche tells you plenty about the priceless holdings in Marco Cirillo's care. The Vincent is a celebration, tribute to Marco's father. These great vines express a lavish, if measured, all-sort of black liquorice, pepper, cherry sherbert and dry leaf, with wild aromas of violets and fresh blueberry. A more obious charmer than the 1850, it is unpretentionsly generous, albeit held together by the powerful, complex, inky juice of old vines. -NT
