Purple Palate

It's hard to imagine more painfully loved plants than Marco Cirillo's 150-year-old vines in the Barossa Valley. Making wines of perplexing individuality and doubtless quality, Marco is anything but a slave to trend. His semillon is particularly subtle for the region, offering mineral notes of citrus, hints of herb, and and system of keen, crips acidity that is gentle and yet total. Typically, its integrity and pitch-perfect crafting will repay in spades as much cellar time as can be afforded. The details here promise only further distinction. -NT
