Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
says:Realiable source tells me this rose is made by bleeding off juice from some of the higher yielding old Grenache vines (1850 plantings). It's a very interesting wine. Cherry, spice, dark brittle toffee and cold beef - a darker colour than many Pinot Noirs and more than a little similarity to taste. It's full flavoured but crisp and dry with faintly tannic rasp echoing through the length of the palate. Offers meaty vinous flavours rather than confectionary ones. Has a touch of warmth that's characterful rather than offputting. Charasmatic and individual.
