Purple Palate

The Chardonny comes from various clones planted in rich, Bannockburn soils in 1994. Over the years its depth of flavour and lenth has increased with the age of the vines, balanced always by a distinct mineral edge and considerable acidic pulse. The 2009 is another lovely example, with perfectly integrated oak and a textural richness that builds in the glass. It remains energetic and seamless toward room temperature, finishing with suggestions of soft lemon rind, split stone and whiteflower. -NT
