The formidable Eden Valley old-vine holdings of Trevor and Marylin Harch are a substantial piece of Barossa history. The Mackenzie William is made from the oldest Riesling vines in Eden Valley, planted in 1896. Thankfully that unique depth of fruit is every bit on show here. Brimming with lemon/lime tones that are at once mineral and silky, this has a crisp, refreshing profile with persistent, powerful fruit played in an elegant, almost ethereal mode. Humbly presented under the $20 mark, it is just about impossible to go past.-Ed.
